Our tips on how to approach a quad excursion

To fully enjoy this experience safely, we have prepared a list of six useful tips to follow to prepare for a quad excursion, from how to dress to what to bring in the backpack.

Understanding what an off-road tour is and consists of

Those who have never ridden a quad and those who have never driven one before may have some doubts and consequently some extra hesitation in participating in a quad tour. We want to reassure you: this type of tour is actually suitable for everyone, it will only be necessary to have a pinch of adventurous spirit and a desire to discover natural landscapes, new and unexpected. Furthermore, all our excursions are safe as they are supported by a lead guide who will indicate the route to follow and provide support if needed.

If you really don't feel like driving the vehicle, either out of fear or because you're not a fan of driving, you can always enjoy the itinerary comfortably as a passenger. On a quad bike, in fact, two people can travel together.

Choosing the right clothing

Before setting off on a quad excursion, it is advisable to carefully choose the clothing to wear to be comfortable and fully enjoy the tour. This varies depending on the seasons but must always be practical, simple, and sporty: so no dresses, shirts, sandals, or heels.

Clothing for quad tours in summer. The garments we recommend wearing in summer should not only be comfortable but also protect from the sun and possibly from rain or wind. A sporty outfit is always recommended: a short or long-sleeved T-shirt (preferably in technical fabric) that is breathable, a pair of long pants to protect against branches or brambles (even jeans are fine), ankle boots or high-top sneakers, a bandana to cover the mouth from dust and insects, a hat with a visor to protect from the sun, and sunglasses.

Clothing for winter quad tours. Even in winter, we recommend technical clothing that allows freedom of movement while keeping warm and dry. In essence, we recommend sportswear similar to summer wear, but with some small differences: a breathable long-sleeved shirt, a warm fleece, a windproof and waterproof jacket like a k-way, heavy or padded long pants that are water-repellent (no jeans because they dry very slowly when wet), preferably ankle boots, neck warmer, gloves to protect from wind and cold, and, if available, rain overpants to wear if it rains or the ground is wet.

Both in summer and in winter, it is mandatory to wear a helmet and hygienic balaclava. Both are provided, but if you have your own helmet, you can bring it.

Pack your backpack wisely

The backpack is a fundamental element during a quad tour. It should contain everything you might need along the way. We always recommend including: a spare windproof and rainproof jacket even in summer, sunscreen, a complete change of clothes, at least 2 liters of water, a snack, a towel or moist wipes, plastic bags to store wet items if needed. Also, do not forget the camera to capture the most fun moments and beautiful landscapes and a first aid kit.

Bring documents with you

In order to leave, it is essential to bring the documents and the driving license with you. Without a B or B1 license, it is not possible to drive the vehicle.

Respect the environment

Wherever you are, respecting nature is always an obligation. Especially in summer, one should never stop in areas where the vegetation is dry to avoid the engine heat causing fires. Furthermore, one should never leave their garbage around, it is better to put it in the backpack and throw it away as soon as possible.

Follow the instructor's advice and rules

It is very important for the success of the tour and for everyone's fun in complete safety, never take initiatives, never go off track and always follow what the instructor or lead guide says.
